Curiosity. Compassion. Collaboration.
Casey Hrynkow Shewchuk is WIK*D.

For 35 years, Casey co-owned and ran one of Canada’s most respected design firms. As her own work matured and changed over time, she began to use design research and design thinking as her primary skills.

Casey helps decision-makers see the big picture more clearly. Facilitating workshops that use unique, disarming tools, getting strangers to look at problems together, her work provides insights that may be surprising, and are always valuable.

With her team, she can facilitate group sizes from 5 to 60 at a time, and give agency to people who don’t usually get to be part of decisions. Casey’s work taps into the wisdom that lives in communities and, through very real experiences, gives participants the credibility to be champions of their ideas. Casey has worked with First Nations in British Columbia, as well as cities and universities across Western Canada. She recently presented her work on reducing the stigma of homelessness at TEDxEmilyCarr 2020.
